Stamatis Apostolos: κ. Σταμάτης Ἀπόστολος
Stamatis Apostolos comes to us, along with his wife Penelope and three children, from Niagara Falls Ontario, Canada. He is a member of the Ontario College of Teachers, a professional educator offering 25 years of education experience as a High School Science Teacher, Head of Department, and Soccer Coach for the District School Board of Niagara. He received his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Brock University, Ontario and Master of Science in Secondary Education from Niagara University, New York, USA, with specializations in Chemistry, Physics and General Sciences. He completed his Teacher Training program in the USA, with certifications in Special Education, and Principal’s Qualification programs at the University of Western Ontario, and is a master teacher certified across three divisions: Junior, Intermediate, and Senior. As a teacher, Stamatis “inspired academic success based on [the] belief that all students can achieve excellence, regardless of background.” As a sports enthusiast, Stamatis enjoys athletics both as a past time and professionally: he is a Self Defense Instructor and holds a 2nd Degree Black Belt in Jiu Jitsu and a Soccer Coaching License. As Head Coach of the Boy’s High School Soccer team, he led his team to victory winning multiple Championships in consecutive seasons. Stamatis’ ‘energies’ and volunteer work extend beyond the classroom and into the community where in addition to coaching club soccer, he served his parish church of St. Katherine, and supported community outreach programs.

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
Christiana Piker: κ. Χριστιάνα Πίκερ
Christiana is beyond excited to be working as the Administrative Assistant at Three Hierarchs Academy! Being involved in youth and young adult ministries has been one of the great joys of Christiana’s life. For many years she has served on staff at Greek Orthodox retreats and summer camps along the West Coast and in Greece such as the Metropolis of San Fransisco Summer Camp, All Saints Camp and Ionain Village. Christiana is also a Registered Nurse with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Washington, specializing in hematology/oncology care. When Christiana is not working she enjoys trips to the local farmers market, hiking and stand up paddle boarding.

Penelope Apostolos: κα. Πηνελόπη Ἀποστόλου
Penelope Apostolos is from Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada, and has decided together with her husband Stamati and three children to relocate to the Sonoran Desert and teach at 3HAcademy. Penelope is a graduate from the University of Western Ontario, London, Ontario with a Bachelor of Arts in French and English, and a Bachelor of Education. She is qualified to teach in the Primary, Junior and Intermediate divisions, with a specialization in French as a second language. Currently she is a French teacher with the District School Board of Niagara and a Greek language teacher at the St. Katherines Greek Orthodox Church and Community in St. Catharines, Ontario. When not busy teaching or volunteering, Penelope enjoys taking bike rides along the scenic Niagara Parkway, planning nutritious meals for her family, and looking after a coop full of chickens!

Rebecca Rome: κα. Ρεβέκκα Ρόμ
Rebecca Rome began her teaching career at Three Hierarchs Academy when it was first established in 2018. Being born and raised in Washington State, she and her family moved to Arizona 13 years ago to be closer to the monastery. After 12 years of homeschooling her 5 children, Mrs. Rome welcomed the opportunity to teach at the academy and thoroughly enjoys being able to plan lessons related to our saints and the Orthodox faith. Being the daughter of an English teacher, her love of language arts was instilled in her at a young age. She especially loves teaching grammar and phonetics. For the 2023-2024 school year, Mrs. Rome will be teaching grades four and five combined. When she is not in school, Mrs. Rome enjoys traveling with her family, spending time at the beach, and tending to her many plants and trees.

Eleni Koulouris: κα. Ελένη Κουλούρη
Eleni Koulouris was born and raised in Athens, Greece. She is an Arizona state certified K-8 educator, who graduated from Arizona State University in December 2008. Eleni Koulouris has over ten years of experience in the education field. She taught and tutored many children of different backgrounds and levels in different public and private schools. She also, has six years of experience teaching the Greek language in Holy Trinity Greek school as well as in Three Hierarchs Academy. This year is her fourth-year teaching in our school. Currently, she is teaching 2nd and 3rd Grade. She believes that a teacher is like a candle - it consumes itself to light the way of others. In her spare time, she loves reading, swimming, traveling, baking, and spending time with her family creating memories.

Anna Larsen: κα. Άννα Λάρσεν
Anna Larsen received her four-year collegiate diploma in fashion design and patternmaking, followed by a three-year advanced program in fashion design. Both of these programs emphasized advanced classical drawing and painting theory and technique. During the past 30 years, Anna has taught art to children in her home studio and has illustrated seven children’s books. Her art students have received several state awards, and she herself has received state awards for her professional artwork. Classical drawing has always been one of her favorite subjects, and she enjoys passing along this knowledge to the next generation. She is very thankful for having had the opportunity to teach art at Three Hierarchs Academy since 2021.

Irene Tsalikis: κα. Ειρήνη Τσαλίκη
Irene Tsalikis finished a 3 year University degree and a Lower Elementary Montessori Training in Toronto, Canada. She taught at a Montessori School for a few years before moving and getting married in Arizona in 2016. Once in Arizona, she also received her Upper Elementary Montessori Training and her Elementary Teaching Certificate. She taught for a few years at other schools until Three Hierarchs Academy was established in 2018 and then she taught here for a few years before taking a break to help her husband open a restaurant. Now that they sold the restaurant, she is able to return to teaching and is currently teaching Kindergarten/Frist Grade this year. In her spare time, she likes to travel with her family, swim and go hiking/walking.

TEACHING ASSISTANT
Sophia Clark: κα. Σοφία Κλάρκ
Sophia Clark comes to us from Alaska where she taught for a year in a oneroom schoolhouse. She arrived a year ago to be part of The Three Hierarchs Academy team and last year worked with the kindergarten class. Sophia enjoys getting to know everyone and always loves to meet people! In her spare time Sophia loves to pass her time cooking, doing arts and crafts, and enjoying the outdoors.
