What makes our school different:
- • primary emphasis on education of the soul;
- • a traditional style of education, based on creation science, truthful history, and renowned literary works, both ancient and modern;
- • carefully chosen books and instructional materials that have been tested for generations and have been proven to work (however, incorporating new scientific content);
- • focus on critical thinking skills, such as analysis, clear communication, creativity, flexibility, and problem-solving;
- • phonics vs. whole language reading;
- • emphasis on cursive handwriting;
- • delaying the use of technology until the 11th grade;
- • an environment that makes learning enjoyable by challenging young minds and engaging students in the learning process;
- • low student-to-teacher ratio and more personal attention;
- • strong teacher-student and teacher-parent relationships that help support this unique learning environment.
Our school’s offerings include:
- • a rigorous program in mathematics (abacus, mental arithmetic, comprehensive algebra, Euclidean geometry, and trigonometry);
- • a unique opportunity for students to learn Byzantine chant and explore their artistic and musical talents;
- • a partial Greek immersion program (currently being developed) in which students become fluent in Modern Greek while acquiring a reading knowledge of ancient Greek;
- • fine art lessons with Christian themes that inspire creativity and deepen a child’s faith;
- • instruction in life skills such as cooking, sewing, gardening, and woodworking;
- • a physical education program that develops athletic ability and builds teamwork.
